To make South Indian Papad Curry, dip tamarind in 2 cups of hot water and keep aside
papad - urad dal(4)tamarind - as big as lemoncurry leaves(1) - 2
Heat 2 teaspoons of sesame oil in a pan on medium heat, and add mustard seeds and gram and wait for it to crackle
mustard(1 teaspoon)gram lentils(1/2 teaspoon)teaspoons sesame oil(3) - 3
Now add asafoetida, red chili and curry leaves and let it cook for 30-40 seconds
pinch asafoetida(1)dry red chili(1)curry leaves(1) - 4
Add chopped papads and fry them in oil
papad - urad dal(4) - 5
Now add tamarind water, turmeric, horse and salt and cook until the tamarind is raw
tamarind - as big as lemonturmeric powder(1/4 teaspoon)salt - as per taste - 6
Finally add a teaspoon of oil and let it come to a boil, then turn off the gas

South Indian Papad Curry is now ready, serve it with rice and chow chow kootu at dinner
