    To make the beetroot thoran, first heat the oil in a pan

    After 10 seconds, add chopped beetroot and cook it

    Add 1 cup of water, push the pan and let the beetroot cook

    After the beetroot is cooked, take it out and discard the water

  5. 5

    Now heat oil in a pan

    Add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, dry red chillies and green chillies

    Cook for 15 seconds

    After 15 seconds, add beetroot and cook it for 1 minute

    After that add coconut, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and mix it

    Cover the pan and let it cook for 3 to 5 minutes

    After cooking, turn off the gas and garnish with coconut

    Serve Beetroot Thoran with mixed vegetable sambar and rice for dinner
