Ghoogri Recipe - Jowar Upma

To begin making Ghoogri Recipe, firstly boil the soaked jowar in enough water till the cooker releases 8 to 9 whistles The level of the water in the cooker should be approximately 2 inches above
jowar seeds - soaked for 9 to 0 hours(1 cup)water - as required - 2
The boiled jowar should be cooked well but chewy and not mushy
jowar seeds - soaked for 9 to 0 hours(1 cup) - 3
Strain out the residual water and use few tablespoons of it while cooking the spices later
tablespoons ghee - or oil(2)water - as required - 4
In a kadhai heat ghee
tablespoons ghee - or oil(2) - 5
Add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle
jowar seeds - soaked for 9 to 0 hours(1 cup)cumin seeds (jeera)(1 teaspoon) - 6
Add crushed green chilies, ginger and garlic, and saute for few seconds
green bell pepper (capsicum) - chopped(1)green peas (matar) - shelled(1 cup)teaspoons green chillies - crushed(1)garlic - crushed(1 teaspoon)ginger - grated(1 teaspoon) - 7
Add onions and saute them until they are soft and pink
onions - finely chopped(1/3 cup) - 8
Add carrot and green peas, saute for a minute
green bell pepper (capsicum) - chopped(1)green peas (matar) - shelled(1 cup)carrot (gajjar) - chopped(1/2 cup)teaspoons green chillies - crushed(1) - 9
Add few tablespoons of water from the boiled jowar, cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes
jowar seeds - soaked for 9 to 0 hours(1 cup)tablespoons ghee - or oil(2)water - as required - 10
Once the carrots and peas are cooked add chopped capsicum, garam masala powder, sugar and mix well
green bell pepper (capsicum) - chopped(1)green peas (matar) - shelled(1 cup)carrot (gajjar) - chopped(1/2 cup)onions - finely chopped(1/3 cup)garam masala powder(1 teaspoon)sugar(1 teaspoon) - 11
Add boiled jowar and toss well
jowar seeds - soaked for 9 to 0 hours(1 cup) - 12
Cover and cook for a couple of minutes

Lastly, add lemon juice and mix everything well
lemon juice(1 teaspoon) - 14
Transfer the Ghoogri into a serving plate, garnish with green coriander leaves and serve

Serve Ghoogri with a hot cup of Masala Chai for breakfast
