    To make chow chow sambar, first put 2 cups water, turmeric powder, salt along with lentils in a pressure cooker and cook till 2 years come

    chow chow - chop(2 cups)grams tamarind - soaked in 1 water(30 cup)sambar powder(1 tablespoon)turmeric powder(1/4 teaspoon)salt - as per taste

    After the lentils are cooked, mash the lentils well and keep them aside

    Heat the oil in a pan

    Add onions and cook till they become soft

    onion - thinly sliced(1)

    Now add tomatoes and chow chow

    chow chow - chop(2 cups)tomatoes - chopped(2)

    Cook until 3/4 of the chow is cooked

    chow chow - chop(2 cups)

    Now add tamarind water, sambar powder, salt and cook it until the chow is cooked well

    Now add dal, green coriander and cook for 2 to 3 minutes

    Turn off the gas

    Now heat sesame oil in a tempering pan

    sesame oil - or any oil(1 teaspoon)

    Add the mustard seeds, dry red chilies and cook for 15 seconds

    mustard(1 teaspoon)red chili(1)

    Now add asafoetida, curry leaves and turn off the gas after 10 seconds

    asafoetida(1/4 teaspoon)sprig curry leaves(1)

    Add this tempering to the sambar and mix

    sambar powder(1 tablespoon)

    Serve Chow Chow Sambar with beans and cabbage with porridge and rice for dinner
