Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly.
shortening(1 c)packed brown sugar(1 c)granulated sugar(1/2 c)eggs(2)vanilla(2 tsp) - 2
Sift together flour, soda and salt.
sifted flour(2 1/4 c)baking soda(1 tsp)salt(1 tsp) - 3
Add dry ingredients gradually to creamed mixture, mix well.

Stir in 1/2 cup m&m candies; reserve remaining candies for decorating.

Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet.

Decorate tops of cookies with remaining candies.

Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes till golden brown.
