In a heavy bottomed pan, heat oil on medium flame

Once its hot, add mustard seeds
mustard seeds(1 teaspoon) - 4
As soon as they splutter, add the asafoetida

Next, add the onions and saute

When the onions turn translucent, add the ginger garlic paste and mix well

When the onions are well cooked, add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and saute

Cookf or about a minute or two

Now, add the drained cubed potatoes and mix

Add 1 cup of water to cover the potatoes and bring to a boil
