To begin making the Simple Mutton Curry With Coconut recipe, make coconut paste using the ingredients mentioned under ‘Coconut paste’, in the grinder and keep aside
mutton(400 grams)ginger garlic paste(1 tablespoon)sprig curry leaves(4)fresh coconut - grated (or dry)(1/2 cup) - 2
Wash goat pieces 3-4 times with water, drain well, add in all the ingredients mentioned under ‘for marination’ and mix properly
water - as requiredwater - as required - 3
Set it aside for 30 minutes

Heat oil in a medium saucepan kept on medium heat and fry whole masala like cloves, pepper corns, cinnamon, fennel seeds, bay leaves and cardamom along with curry leaves and green chillies

Add onions and fry on medium high till translucent
onion - chopped(1) - 6
Add chopped tomatoes and fry till mushy
onion - chopped(1)tomatoes - chopped(1 cup)green chillies - chopped(6) - 7
Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes away
ginger garlic paste(1 tablespoon)inch ginger(1/2)cloves garlic(4) - 8
Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt
red chilli powder(1 tablespoon)turmeric powder (haldi)(1 teaspoon)red chilli powder(1 tablespoon)turmeric powder (haldi)(1 teaspoon)salt - to taste - 9
Mix and add little water
water - as requiredwater - as required - 10
Add the marinated goat pieces, cover cook medium high till the pieces turn soft

Add water if required

Add coconut paste, mix and let it simmer on medium heat for 5 more minutes
