Cream together sugar and margarine.
sugar(2 1/2 c)butter or margarine(3/4 c) - 2
Add beaten eggs to mixture, then add buttermilk and vanilla.

In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, soda and nutmeg.
flour sifted(4 1/2 c)baking powder(3 tsp)baking soda(1 tsp)nutmeg(1 tsp) - 4
Add creamed mixture to flour mixture, stirring into flour mixture gradually.
flour sifted(4 1/2 c) - 5
Chill.

Roll out on lightly floured board.

Cut and then bake at 350° for about 8 to 10 minutes.
